Jaew is a woman with an infectious smile that charmingly pairs with her initial shyness. She started learning English with us as an absolute beginner two years ago. It took a lot of courage for Jaew to walk through the doors of the Employment Education Center for the first time. She believed she wasn’t smart enough, but she came anyway.
At first, she thought she would never be able to learn English and didn’t have confidence in herself. She has come so far since then!
Jaew was put at ease though by the warm environment of the center. It wasn’t intimidating. It felt like a welcoming home. Now, Jaew can read and write in English, and her conversation skills have improved so much. Each day she is learning more and growing in confidence and leadership!
In addition to English, she has been a regular at some of our other classes, mostly baking and health. According to our Thai staff, “Jaew always adds so much to the class environment!”
Jaew’s kind and quiet nature (and almost-hidden mischievous sense of humor) make her a great addition to our community. She is a member of our family and we love watching her grow.
Recently, Jaew was selected as one of the two first employees with one of our new business partners. She is putting her natural detail-oriented talent and new skills into work as an artisan with
Heidi Hull Designs. We are so proud of her!
